ABOUT
Brooklyn Art Project is home to thousands of artists, art enthusiasts, and creative professionals from around the world. BAP was created as an experiment to see what would happen if we built a community of artists, designers and creatives to connect and collaborate in ways never before possible through social media.

BAP’s fast growth and collaborative exhibitions with the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Burning Man to name a few, have proven the experiment extremely worthwhile and opened up a new channel for artists everywhere to have their work seen. One BAP member artist summed it up best saying “BAP made me brave”.

Named one of HOW Magazine’s top sites, BAP showcases 50,000+ artworks and hosts ongoing collaborative projects. Monthly Brooklyn-based exhibitions provide opportunities for emerging artists from around the world a chance to be featured in a Brooklyn art show.

BAP was launched in 2007 by brothers (and native New Yorkers) Anthony and James Cospito, who also run Strut NYC, an award winning design and social media strategy firm.

We are a group of creative meticulous women and we share a great space in DUMBO where we have formed a great community of jewelers. We all have our individual jewelry lines, but we have the privilege of sharing a beautiful space and an array of tools that otherwise we wouldn’t have. Come see our space and support the arts!

Sesame Letterpress

Sesame Letterpress is a letterpress printing studio that has been operating in the DUMBO neighborhood for more than ten years. We produce fine stationery and paper goods using 19th Century printing presses. Each piece is carefully printed one at a time. During the open studios weekend, we will be demonstrating printing and selling our printed goods.

My art is based on the evolution and devolution of the life’s wonders. This includes the interplay of geology, geography, products of the human hand, and our current (computer) pixilated lifestyle. The work addresses the harmony and chaos that erupts from the above mentioned mix.
Structure, form and color, love of the countryside, as well as a lifetime of Brooklyn living; all of these contribute to the building blocks of these creations.
Each piece is made of multiple fired stoneware clay.
Thoughtful planning, followed by the work process delivers the art. The question of what we seem to be and who we really are, is evident in the nature of each piece. Fronts and backs, insides and outsides; all related – and all significantly different. Meticulous care is taken so that each work extends an unspoken invitation to look again. The desire to touch is hard to deny.
