Best, David Hoffman Volunteer Coordinator DUMBO Arts Festival CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS Seeking passionate art lovers to volunteer for the 2010 DUMBO Arts Festival. The DUMBO Arts Festival is an annual event that highlights Brooklyn’s unique role as incubator of the most innovative, exciting, challenging and important art made anywhere. Each year, it exhibits and celebrates the best in local, national, and international art with the breathtaking backdrop of the East River bridges and Manhattan skyline. The 2010 Festival will take place on September 24th, 25th and 26th. Every year, it attracts 150,000 visitors and includes 150+ studios, 35+ galleries, 40+ arts organizations and a host of family-friendly venues. Due to its incomparable scope – with exhibits of the best in visual art, music, literature, dance, performance and digital media – the Festival relies heavily on the support of its volunteer team. Creative, hard-working people of all ages and backgrounds come together each year to lend their time and energy to help make it a reality. This year we are searching for volunteers who can devote some of their time between Friday, September 17th and Thursday, September 23rd, as well as, the three days of the Festival itself. The activities you might engage in include assisting exhibiting artists with installation of their works, guiding attendees through and between the various exhibits, lending a hand at one of our performance stages, or helping the next generation of artists at our “Art Garage” children’s creation station.
